Call me corny but when I see a police officer I thank them for what they do. Gas station, restaurant... At a red light I flash them a heart with my hands. I'm not scared of them. I want them to feel appreciated. I don't linger either. I say it and leave. One officer looked taken aback and said thanks. I just walked off. At least one person thanked them and meant it... You know?

Georgia cop shares emotional story after pulling over 'terrified' young black man

A white police officer from Savannah, Georgia, has shared a heartwarming story after he pulled over a young black man who was texting while driving and terrified of him because he is a cop. 'I pulled a car over last night for texting and driving. When I went to talk to the driver, I found a young black male, who was looking at me like he was absolutely terrified with his hands up,' Lieutenant Tim McMillian wrote on Facebook (inset). 'I truly don't even care who's (sic) fault it is that young man was so scared to have a police officer at his window... It doesn't matter to me who's to blame. I just wish somebody would fix it.' Lt McMillan's story has been shared thousands of times since he posted it online.

The baby's distraught mother Nechole Crowell had her flasher lights on and flagged down Deputy Nix, then rushed out of the vehicle with baby King.

Deputy Nix then kneeled on the ground to administer CPR and other life-saving measures to the three-month-old.

Heartwarming moment state trooper sits and eats lunch with homeless mom-of-four on side of road after buying her a meal

Massachusetts officer eats lunch with homeless mother on the road side

Trooper Luke Bonin (right) from Massachusetts State Police was driving back from court when he saw mother of four, Lynn Murphy, asking for money from drivers in Fall River. Initially he drove past, but minutes later he picked up some food from a nearby restaurant, turned around and got out of the car. Murphy thought he would give her a ticket for panhandling. But instead, Bonin took out two meals and told her to choose one. She told the station: 'I thought he was just going to hand me the meal but when he said: "Come around the back, it's such a beautiful day, we'll have a picnic". I thought that was, it touched my heart,' she added. 'He just stopped, could have given her a hard time, and didn't. And, we need that.'

A Washington state trooper who motorists believed was in pursuit of a senior citizen on a scooter was actually giving the woman a slow-speed escort back home.

Trooper Dave Hintz came upon a woman in her 80s traveling along State Route 546, a busy highway that runs parallel to the US-Canadian border, on an electric scooter, KOMO reports.

The posted speed limit on the stretch of road near Lynden was 45 mph, but the unidentified senior, who had gotten lost after going out for coffee, topped out at 6 mph.
