America has a reputation for excessive meal sizes, a major culprit of the obesity epidemic. But none are as fatty, calorific, salt-laden and sugar-loaded as these dishes. This list, compiled annually by the nonprofit Center for Science in the Public Interest, names and shames the chain restaurants with the most dangerously high-calorie meals in the country. The list includes the Texas Roadhouse meat meal, with a side of marshmallow sweet potato (left); IHOP's 2,000-calorie breakfast of meat-topped omelette with hash browns, tomatoes, onions, cheese and a side of syrup-soaked pancakes (center); and Chili's Ultimate Smokehouse Combo, served on a tray because it can't fit on a plate.

Does the public know that certain fish caught in Alaska are immediately frozen, shipped to China to be thawed, deboned, refrozen, and then shipped to the U.S. Unbelievable but true.
