One week after dropping to second, Fox News finished the week of Sept. 11 as No. 1 cable network in total day viewers. The Weather Channel ranked No. 1 for the week of Sept. 4 due to its wall-to-wall coverage of Hurricane Irma. TWC’s performance broke FNC’s 35-week streak as basic cable’s most-watched network.

And Fox News’s run as basic cable’s most-watched network in prime time ended this past week as ESPN took the lead, with the return on Monday Night Football. Fox News’s streak lasted 16 weeks.

Despite Fox News’s dominance, the network delivered year-over-year audience declines. The network was down -13 percent in prime time viewers, and down -4 percent in total day.

I think Hannity will do even better and destroy Maddow, and I thin Laura Inggrahm will also do very good.

RUPERT MURDOCH: 'NOTHING'S HAPPENING AT FOX NEWS'

'It's getting record ratings. And so I'm not worried at all'

Published: 13 hours ago

(TALKING POINTS MEMO) — Media mogul Rupert Murdoch said Monday that “nothing’s happening at Fox News,” despite the departure of two top executives and top host Bill O’Reilly.

The comment came during an ambush interview with the BBC’s Amol Rajan, who asked Murdoch if he was worried about the ongoing federal investigation of 21st Century Fox and the class action racial discrimination suit against Fox News.

The British regulatory agency Ofcom on Monday heard from Wendy Walsh, who has accused O’Reilly of sexual harassment, as part of its review of 21st Century Fox’s potential takeover over of Sky.

Sean Hannity threatens legal action after Fox News guest claims he invited her back to his hotel room and then cancelled her from his show after she rejected his advances

Sean Hannity forced to deny he harassed Fox contributor

Debbie Schlussel said the prime time host invited her back to his hotel in Detroit after a debate. After she turned down his advances, she claims she wasn't invited back on his show. In an interview with Tulsa, Oklahoma-based radio host Pat Campbell, she said: 'This kind of stuff is all over the place at Fox News and anything that has to do with Sean Hannity.' Her comments came just two days after Bill O'Reilly was fired from Fox News over similar allegations. Hannity strenuously denied the allegations, and insisted Schlussel was just seeking attention.

So it was about MONEY-- I guess the question is - ISN'T THIS A DEFINITION OF A PROSTITUTE?

Lawyers for defiant Roger Ailes reveal ousted Fox News chairman paid NO money toward Gretchen Carlson's $20 million sexual harassment settlement

Lawyers for Roger Ailes say he paid NO money toward Gretchen Carlson's settlement

Former host Gretchen Carlson's lawsuit named Roger Ailes (left), not Fox News, as a defendant. But Ailes attorneys' said Tuesday he had not contributed a dollar to the $20 million payment. 21st Century Fox agreed to pay the sum to Carlson (right) and apologized to her on Tuesday. Carlson claimed in the lawsuit that Ailes cancelled her show when she rebuffed his sexual advances. Ailes resigned from Fox News in July after Carlson went public with her allegations. He hasn't spoken out publicly since. 'We sincerely regret and apologize for the fact that Gretchen was not treated with the respect that she and all our colleagues deserve,' the statement from 21st Century Fox, Fox News' parent company, reads.

Left Would Love to See Murdoch Go

Let’s be clear about something: The left smells blood in the case of Rupert Murdoch and the hacking scandal.

Why?

Because Murdoch and his American media entities — especially Fox News and the New York Post — have bedeviled the left for years. These right-of-center news sources have gone into hard-left territory, TV news and the New York news market, and dominated not only in market share but also in setting the news agenda.

from another site:

According to an article by Robert Ringer in WND, the reason behind Fox News' conservative leaning is a man by the name of Roger Ailes who he calls "staunchly conservative, daring and one of those guys who seems to have been born with the Midas touch."

Apparently, Rupert Murdoch is not a conservative as he, reportedly, "wanted the New York Post (another News Corporation holding) to endorse Barack Obama for president."

So, basically, Rupert is finding profitability in the conservative leaning of Fox News to the point that this profit quells his liberal leanings.

The author worries that, once Rupert passes, his children will change the direction of Fox News, leaving no conservative voice in America.  He reports the following:

Quote:
Murdoch's eldest son, Lachlan Murdoch, left the company in 2004, purportedly because he was at odds with Ailes. And, according to an article in the New York Times, "Two other Murdoch children, Elisabeth, a television producer in London, and James, the only Murdoch employed at the company, are sympathetic to Democratic causes and frequently voiced concerns to their father during last year's presidential campaign about Fox News' coverage of Mr. Obama."
And, to add insult to injury, the author reports that News Corporation - like many other businesses - is partially owned by the Saudis.  He states that "Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal owns 5 percent of the voting shares of Fox News' parent company, News Corporation."  Ah, and now you wonder why CAIR is an ever-present fixture on Fox News?

In the future, it looks like it may very well be be up to conservative bloggers, pundits, and the people to preserve the conservative message.

A parting quote from the article:

Quote:
"I am by no means alone within the family or the company in being ashamed and sickened by Roger Ailes' horrendous and sustained disregard of the journalistic standards that News Corporation, its founder and every other global media business aspires to."

~ Rupert Murdoch's son-in-law, Matthew Freud
