Heart-stopping moment a train barrels through and completely destroys a FedEx truck in Utah  VIDEO

A release by the Utah Transit Authority stated that even in the case of a power outage, the crossing gates are programmed to remain in a downward position, according to the Salt Lake Tribune

Due to a severe storm that day, the intersection at 100 North and 100 East had been covered with heavy ice and snow.

No one was injured in the crash, though the belongings contained in the FedEx truck were likely damaged.

The crash appears to have been caused due to the barriers, flashing lights and bells not being activated in the North Salt Lake intersection

The Utah Transit Authority is investigating why the crossing gates were upright as the train passed, allowing vehicles to pass through despite the imminent danger

Three dead and more than 100 injured as commuter train crashes at full speed INTO Hoboken station: Blood-soaked victims are pulled from the wreckage and rescuers battle many still trapped

UPDATED Three people have been killed and more than 100 injured after a New Jersey transit train plowed into Hoboken station during rush hour this morning. Witnesses said the train didn't brake or slow down as it approached the station, causing mass casualties and structural damage (pictured). Photographs showed blood-soaked people in the station ticket hall and others being tended to outside the train station. Nancy Bido said she was in the middle of the train when the crash happened. 'It just never stopped it was going really, really fast,' Bido said. 'Basically the terminal was the brake for the train'. The crash involving the No. 1614 Pascack Valley line train from Spring Valley, New York happened at around 8.30am. 'My train just ran full force into Hoboken Station,' Twitter user @jaydanahy wrote. All trains in and out of the station have been cancelled. Both NJ Transit commuter trains and PATH trains to New York City run in and out of the building. About 28,335 people take the PATH train into New York City from Hoboken every day.

Woman, 26, is killed by a train while stalking Kentucky's mythical 'Pope Lick Monster' that is said to hypnotize people into climbing onto railroad

Roquel Bain is killed by a train while trying to spot the Pope Lick Monster

Roquel Bain (upper right), 26, of Dayton, Ohio, died after being struck by a train in Louisville, Kentucky Saturday. According to a legend, a creature (bottom right) lives under the Pope Lick trestle (left) east of the city. The beast is rumored to hypnotize visitors and trick them into crossing the trestle, luring them to their death as they get hit by an oncoming train. Bain and her boyfriend went up the trestle on Saturday evening and were walking on it when a train arrived. They realized they didn't have time to make it to the other side and decided to hang off the structure's sides. The train hit Bain, who then fell from 80 to 100 feet.

A new video shows the terrifying moment a film crew fled from an oncoming train. The crew of the Gregg Allman biopic Midnight Rider can be seen dashing to get off the tracks of a railroad bridge with their equipment as a train rushes towards them at breakneck speed (above), this as the two actors filming the scene, Wyatt Russell and Academy Award winner William Hurt, were also forced to scramble out of the train's path. Everyone was able to somehow make it to safety despite several individuals suffering injuries with the exception of one woman, camera assistant Sarah Elizabeth Jones, who was tragically killed.

'She was not careless': Friends insist mother of three whose SUV got stuck on tracks and caused NY train crash that killed five as witnesses describe waiting for her to reverse before tragedy struck

The train pushed the Jeep almost an entire train length from the crossing gates before it came to stop

UPDATED Among the top priorities of an investigation into Tuesday night's deadly train crash (main picture) in Valhalla, New York, is to figure out why the Jeep Cherokee manned by 49-year-old Ellen Brody was in the train's path Tuesday evening, National Transportation Safety Board Vice Chairman Robert Sumwalt has said. Mrs Brody was driving across a set of train tracks when the crossing gate slammed down on the rear of her vehicle. Instead of continuing through the intersection, she got out to examine the back of her car, before getting back in, driving on and colliding with the passing train. The fiery crash resulted in the death of six people, including, pictured clockwise from top left, Mrs Brody, Joseph Nadol, Eric Vandercar, Walter Liedtke and Robert Dirks.
