George Floyd protesters defy curfews across the country - but tensions ease despite tear gas being used on crowds in Atlanta and 1,600 active duty soldiers deployed to Washington DC

George Floyd protesters ignore curfews in cities across the country

Thousands of people protesting over the death of George Floyd remained on the streets after sundown on Tuesday as law enforcement worked to enforce curfews in cities across the US. In Atlanta, tensions flared between the National Guard (pictured main), police and protesters just before a 9pm curfew went into effect as officers launching tear gas into crowds were met with an onslaught of water bottles and fireworks (inset, a protester throws a smoke device at cops). In New York City, officers attempting to wind down a day of peaceful demonstrations reportedly arrested at least 40 people for breaking a 7pm curfew as looting broke out at businesses around Manhattan. Law enforcement in Washington, DC, were met with similar resistance as they attempted to clear the streets outside the White House. It came as the Pentagon confirmed that about 1,600 active duty troops had been moved to the DC area from Fort Bragg in North Carolina and Fort Drum in New York to assist local authorities in containing the unrest. But in contrast to previous nights of violence and destruction across the country since the killing of George Floyd, protests were largely peaceful and the nation's streets calmer.

Trust in the mainstream media is at a historic low—and rightfully so given the behavior of many journalists in Washington, D.C.

Ever since Donald Trump was elected president, it is painfully clear that the mainstream media covers liberals glowingly and conservatives critically.

Now journalists spread false, negative rumors about President Trump before any evidence is even produced. They are trying to cause a civil war.

President Trump may be chief of state, head of government and commander in chief, but his administration is shot through with disloyalists plotting to bring him down.

We are approaching something of a civil war where the capital city seeks the overthrow of the sovereign and its own restoration.

Thus far, it is a nonviolent struggle, though street clashes between pro- and anti-Trump forces are increasingly marked by fistfights and brawls. Police are having difficulty keeping people apart. A few have been arrested carrying concealed weapons.

That the objective of this city is to bring Trump down via a deep state-media coup is no secret. Few deny it.

Last week, fired Director of the FBI James Comey, a successor to J. Edgar Hoover, admitted under oath that he used a cutout to leak to The New York Times an Oval Office conversation with the president.

Ferguson Store Owners: Customers ‘Too Scared’ to Bring Business to the Area

image from cbsstlouis.files.wordpress.comFERGUSON, Mo. (CBS ST. LOUIS) - Businesses in Ferguson say they are “going to wait and see” how to sustain what has been a tumultuous few months of riots and dramatically reduced revenue, with some local store owners saying customers are “too scared” to bring their business to the area.

Local stores and businesses throughout Ferguson expressed feelings of frustration and uncertainty as many have boarded-up windows, increased security measures and lost thousands of dollars in revenue amid protests stemming from the Aug. 9 police shooting death of Michael Brown. Many businesses said they will just have to wait and see what happens ahead of an expected November ruling on whether or not to indict officer Darren Wilson.

America on the BRINK of a CIVIL WAR between White and Black

After the Financial Crisis, Civil War? Get Ready to "Leave Your Region ..."-3/2 TruthOut/Le Monde, by Claire Gatinois-- According to the European think tank, LEAP/Europe 2020, two factors make the US a likely candidate for civil violence: the absence of a strong social safety net and the presence of hundreds of millions of firearms. Will the economic and financial crisis degenerate into violent social explosions? Tomorrow, will there be civil war in Europe, the United States and Japan? That's the rather alarming conclusion that the experts of European think tank LEAP/Europe 2020 lay out in their latest bulletin dated mid-February. ...After the Financial Crisis, Civil War? A house divided against itself cannot stand.”

Abe Lincoln used those words in 1858 to describe a country that was careening toward civil war. Now we’re a house divided again and another civil war is coming, with the 2012 election as its Gettysburg.

Call it America’s coming civil war between the Makers and the Takers.

On one side are those who create wealth, America’s private sector–the very ones targeted by President barry’s tax hikes announced Monday.

On the other are the public employee unions; left-leaning intelligentsia who see the growth of government as index of progress; and the millions of Americans now dependent on government through a growing network of government transfer payments,  from Medicaid and Social Security to college loans and corporate bailouts and handouts (think GM and Solyndra).
