Kim Jong-un (top with Donald Trump) executed his envoy to the U.S. by firing squad at an airport near Pyongyang for 'betraying the supreme leader' over the failed Hanoi summit, South Korean media has reported. Four other unnamed officials were also killed in the purge. Kim Hyok Chol (left, during the Hanoi summit), who accompanied Kim on his private train as nuclear envoy at the Vietnam summit with Trump, was shot in March at Mirim Airport for being 'won over to the US,' during the nuclear negotiations, Chosun Ilbo reported. He was along with four senior foreign ministry officials following an investigation,' a source told South Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo. Another senior official, Kim Yong Chol ( circled left next to Trump), who had been in nuclear discussions with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was sent to a forced labour camp for ideological re-education. Kim Song Hye (circled right), a woman who worked with Kim Hyok Chol in talks with Pompeo was reportedly sent to another prison camp.
