a group of people in a field© Provided by Local News RSS EN-US

The group posted the image to the Big Cypress Facebook page Friday and are calling the catch a record.

The female python was over 17 feet long, weighed 140 pounds, and contained 73 developing eggs. That would make her longer, end-to-end, than a one-story building or a five-meter diving platform.

From undersea explosions to colossal ash plumes captured from space: The most jaw-dropping photographs of erupting volcanoes ever
The most jaw-dropping photos of erupting volcanoes ever

There are few natural events on Earth that can match the drama of an erupting volcano – as these incredible pictures show. They reveal their terrifying – and mesmerising – power. Some of the images were taken from space and show the colossal amount of ash they’re capable of thrusting into the sky. Ash plumes from volcanoes can surge to heights of over six miles. One image shows ash from a volcano in Tonga rocketing just 330 feet in the air, but it’s just as amazing – because the volcano that produced it was underwater.

The piercing eyes of Ethiopia's elders: Stunning portraits capture the guardians who wash the weary feet of pilgrims after they journey to 900-year-old Orthodox Christian churches

Stunning portraits capture Ethiopian elders in Lailbela

These stunning portraits capture the heavily-wrinkled skin, piercing eyes and stern expressions of Ethiopian elders portraits in astonishing detail. Photographer Roberto Pazzi, 44, of Mallorca, Spain, travelled to Lalibela, in north Ethiopia, where he spent two weeks with a tribe - learning about their culture and taking their photographs.  'To make them feel comfortable around me, I approached them with a smile and spoke to them about their lives and culture before taking any pictures,' he said. Lalibela's population is almost completely Orthodox Christian - and Mr Pazzi's portraits reflect the townspeople's dedication to religion as they're seen carrying crosses and holding prayer books. Known as Ethiopia's holiest city, it is home to 11 churches and famous for its monolithic rock-cut churches which were chiselled into the rock 900 years ago.

Everest becomes a plastic peak: Shocking photos reveal piles of tourists' trash as locals run out of space to bury it

Shocking photos reveal piles of tourists' trash on Everest as locals run out of space to

The waste is produced by tons of plastics, beer cans, whiskey bottles, steel food containers, and other solid waste lodge owners import to satisfy the 100,000 tourists who arrive at base camp every year. Burning it releases toxic poisons into the air, and the buried and burned garbage does the same for groundwater supplies. Tourists were being made sick because of human waste being dumped into local rivers.
