British researchers discovered that yolks from birds that are allowed to wander outdoors contain up to 30 per cent more vitamin D than those from birds kept in sheds or cages.
Researchers from the VU University, Amsterdam, found obese people who carry excess fat around their midriffs have lower vitamin D levels. Liver fat is associated with low vitamin D in obese men.
