Why are fruit and vegetables often better frozen than fresh?

* Produce to be frozen is usually picked at its nutritional peak, and then 'snap frozen', which locks in the nutrients for a later date.

* In contrast to fresh produce, frozen fruit and vegetables don't spend time in transit deteriorating, so they could actually be a better choice for your health.

What foods should you eat fresh not frozen?

* Salad greens

* Rice

* Herbs

* Milk

* Yoghurt

* Cucumbers

* Potatoes

The highest-calorie restaurant meals in America, from a marshmallow steak dinner to a 2,000-calorie breakfast

The highest-calorie restaurant meals in America

America has a reputation for excessive meal sizes, a major culprit of the obesity epidemic. But none are as fatty, calorific, salt-laden and sugar-loaded as these dishes. This list, compiled annually by the nonprofit Center for Science in the Public Interest, names and shames the chain restaurants with the most dangerously high-calorie meals in the country. The list includes the Texas Roadhouse meat meal, with a side of marshmallow sweet potato (left); IHOP's 2,000-calorie breakfast of meat-topped omelette with hash browns, tomatoes, onions, cheese and a side of syrup-soaked pancakes (center); and Chili's Ultimate Smokehouse Combo, served on a tray because it can't fit on a plate.

Does the public know that certain fish caught in Alaska are immediately frozen, shipped to China to be thawed, deboned, refrozen, and then shipped to the U.S. Unbelievable but true.

Ever wonder what's really in the food sold at grocery stores around the world? People keep asking me, "What ingredients should I avoid?" So I put together a short list that covers all the most toxic and disease-promoting ingredients in the food supply. These are the substances causing cancer, diabetes, heart disease and leading to tens of billions of dollars in unnecessary health care costs across America (and around the world).

If you want to stay healthy and out of the hospital, read ingredients labels and make sure you avoid all these ingredients:
